The goal with this magazine cover was to get away from NJ Monthly's tendency to feature a conventionally attractive young woman alone on the beach.
I first created a composite image using photos of Jess Kwiecinski and Josh Burke riding NJ waves. Then I added the required body copy. The result has a lot more energy and can reach a wider audience.
